Almost 80% of Malaysians swim like this...

Yet it's utterly WRONG!

Was doing morning workout with my mom in the public park.

As usual, I took off my spectacles so that I could exercise while looking at some greenery in front of me.

Like my mom said, green is good for eyes. Whether that is true or not, I don't know, but as a filial daughter, I always choose to listen to my mom, as long as it doesn't involve my career choices 🤣

While I was doing the power walking workout, I glanced something out of the corner of my eyes.

Since I'm HEAVILY short-sighted (my power is around 800, I guess -- yes I'm blind without my specs), I could only see some blurry silhouettes in front.

"Mom, is there someone swimming in the pool?"

"Yup."

Usually at the time that we were exercising, there would be no one around. We basically conquered the whole park.

So, it was definitely rare for someone to swim at this morning hour.

As a former swim coach, I couldn't help but try to check out his swimming strokes on whether he was doing it right or wrong.

Unfortunately, I was VERY short-sighted at that moment, and worse without my glasses, so I just dumped that thought and carried out my power-walk.

But guess what...

My water tingle was always on, just like Spiderman’s spider tingle.

After 30 second, without having to look at his strokes clearly, I asked my mom, “Mom, is the guy swimming with his head on top of the water?"

"Yeah."

Oh... another self-taught ”swimmer.“

How can I tell?

Because whenever he swam, he would stop right after 5-7 seconds.

I was barely finishing my one power-walk move, which normally lasted for 1 minute, and I could already see his blur head popping up in the middle of the pool for at least 3 times.

😩😩😩

I meant it's applaudable that he's trying to exercise in the early morning, like Yours Truly, but if you're looking to exercise efficiently and safely (because swimming in the water is very dangerous without company or the right skills), it's better to look for experts to help you out.

Because…
